Project Details

Cauroge Wild River

The Geneva municipality of Carouge lies along the Arve River in a Key Biodiversity Area, and offers an exceptional setting where nature and city intertwine. The Mosaik proposal aims to restore ecological vitality, overcome urban barriers, and create a shared landscape for people and wildlife, with a focus on the following points:

  • Renaturalising the Arve’s banks to form a living mosaic of wet and dry habitats that foster biodiversity and resilience
  • Opening up Carouge through pedestrian walkways, bridges, and a gondola lift that connect the district with Geneva and its natural surroundings
  • Giving the area a new identity with public squares, cultural facilities, and riverfront activities that celebrate Carouge’s living landscape
